AMSE's Science Explorer Camp
AMSE’s Science Explorer Camp is designed for rising fifth, sixth, and seventh graders, with a focus on a variety of science topics approached via field explorations and hands-on activities. Located at the historic Freels Bend Cabin site, campers cover topics such as insects, habitats, water, life sciences, weather, geology, fossils, flight, electricity, and robots. The week concludes with a tour of Oak Ridge National Laboratory, as well as special presentations by ORNL researchers.

Camp Invention
Camp Invention is designed to inspire creativity and inventive thinking through loads of hands-on activities and F-U-N! Children will participate in five inventive modules, which include: figuring out a way to leave a foreign planet during the Problem Solving on Planet ZAK® module, redesigning skateboards and enhancing vehicle safety features in the Spills and Chills™ module and creating miniature amusement park rides during the Imagination Point: Ride Physics™ module. The Camp Invention program integrates science, mathematics, history, and the arts in an exciting environment conducive to learning disguised as fun!

Everybody loves a mystery. Come investigate, explore, and do experiments by conducting many hands-on forensic science tests on evidence found at the ‘crime scene’. You will directly experience both real-life applications of science and the joys of scientific explorations in this week long investigation of ‘who did it?’ at the AMSE.csi (crime scene investigation).
