2010 Energy Bowl

The 2010 Energy Bowl competition will be held March 2 - 4 , 2010 at the American Museum of Science and Energy, Oak Ridge, Tennessee.  All public, private, and home-school students, grades 6 – 8, are invited to participate. The registration fee for each team will be $20.00 payable to A.M.S.E. After your team registers, you will go on our list that grants free admission to your team members and two teachers for the last two weeks of February and through the competition.

The Energy Bowl format is comparable to the College Bowl concept and the event is a single elimination tournament. Students will answer toss-up questions about science, energy, and technology. Each competition will last approximately 30 minutes. First, second, and third place cash awards and trophies will be presented to the winning teams.

Each school or participating group is invited to send one team per grade level. A team can contain up to four members. We suggest that alternate team members be picked for each team, in case of illness, etc. Sixth grade teams will compete March 2, seventh grade on March 3, and eighth grade on March 4, 2010. Entries must be received no later than February 12, 2010. No exceptions. A tournament style schedule, including times and dates for competitions, will be mailed in late February to participants.

Parents and classmates are invited to attend the Energy Bowl. It is an opportunity to see new additions to the museum and cheer for their favorite team.
