Classroom Programs at AMSE
Learning through hands-on inquiry
Magnetic Attraction Demystify the magic of magnets as students explore the sizes, shapes and strengths of magnets and test materials using magnetometer. Grades K-3
Mr. Stuffee -Do your students have the guts to learn about human organs, respiratory and circulatory systems while observing replicas of instestines, lungs, and more. Grades K-3
SLGP Matters - Scientific senses matter as students collect facts about solids, liquids, gases, and plasma, how they change from one state to another and how they relate to everday life. Grades K-3
Science of Circuits - Electricity is in the air as students create series and parallel circuits to test materials for conductive and insulative properties. Grades 4-6
Sweet Heat - Insulative properties of various materials are investigaed while teams compete to see who can keep it hot or lose their spot. Grades 4-6
Remote Sensing Learn how scientific instruments are used to extend our senses while using probes to map out unfamiliar terrain. Grades 7-8
Atom Wise - Visit stations that allow students to use a Geiger Counter to measure rediation, model an atom, explain half-life and find hidden sources. Grades 7-8
SPECIAL ACTIVITIES
Cart Programs- The AMSE cart is for special walk up activities for individuals and small groups. Some of our popular cart programs are papermaking, light and color, problem solving, magnets, and acid rain.
