ProgramsAMSE's Educational MissionEducational programs at the American Museum of Science and Energy are designed to support the mission of education in science and technology assigned to the Department of Energy by Congress. This includes science education at all levels and increasing public understanding of science and technology. The programs also support the Museum's mission statement to effectively communicate science and energy information to its visitors in an interactive, interesting, and informative manner; increase public understanding of national energy policy, inform the public about all aspects of energy; and provide the public with a clear, balanced picture of the Federal role in energy research and development. AMSE's Educational Goals: The primary goal for educational programming at the American Museum of Science and Energy is to provide school groups, tour groups and the general public with quality, interactive experiences in science, energy and technology. The programs should stimulate interest in science, energy and technology as well as provide a means for the participant to ask questions and find answers about science in everyday life and to encourage them to be lifelong learners. AMSE programs will also allow educators and parents to observe and participate in appropriate hands-on teaching and demonstration styles that can be duplicated in their classrooms and homes.
