Summer Camp 2008

Science Explorer Camp
Science Explorer Camp will focus on a variety of science topics approached via field explorations and hands-on activities. Located at the historic Freels Bend Cabin site, campers cover topics such as insects, habitats, water, life science, weather, geology, fossils, flight, electricity and robots. The week concludes with a tour of Oak Ridge National Laboratory, as well as presentation by ORNL researchers.

AMSE Labs
Campers will probe the Phenomena of Physics, dive into the Wonders of Chemistry, behold the Beauty of Biology, gaze into the Amazement of Astronomy, crack the Hardness of Geology, and engage the Evolution of Ecological Science as they spend the week exploring different disciplines. Campers get a hands-on experience in the AMSE labs. The week concludes with a tour of Oak Ridge National Laboratory, as well as special presentations by ORNL researchers for the rising 6th & 7th grade campers.

*Enrollment changes daily and camp fills up on a first come- first serve basis. To increase your chances of enrolling in camp we suggest that you drop off your camp enrollment forms at the museum as soon as possible. Enrollments are processed on Mondays and Tuesdays of every week and you will be informed of your status at that time.
